Todd Agnew and Rush of Fools --- Better Questions Tour

So I am trying to save money so that I may fly home for Christmas. I am attending a seminar titled 'Workinig Well with a Disability', and since I am in a group that is critiqing the material as it i9s being presented to us, we get paid twenty bucks for it. SWEET!

I decided early on that the money would go toward a plane ticket home. Well, so far, I haven't saved much. I cant remember now what I spent the first twenty on, but the second twenty I just HAD to attend the concert. (just call me a music junkie, LOL!)

Wednesday September 26, 2007. Todd Agnew was in concert at Christian Life Center. Opening for Todd Agnew was 'Rush of Fools', from Birmingham Alabama. RoF has garnered themselves a new fan, ME! While they sang, the words to the songs were up on the overhead. Becaus the music was so loud, it was difficult to understand what they were singing part of the time. Watchign the over head adn reading the words, I wept through most of their performance as the words to their music hit me.

Whenever I hear Todd Agnew on the radio I'd always confuse him with Mark Shultz. Good grief, I can tell you the name of a song and recite lyrics almost word for word, but when it comes to who is singing....not so much.

When Todd first came out on stage, he was messing with the sound equipment and talking to the sound people in back, and so I assunmed it was soemeone from his road crew. Later when he came out on stage singing his first song, I almost burst out laughing. Not only was his singing voice w-a-a-a-y different than his speaking voice, but he looked a lot different than I pictured him.

Todd Agnew did a tribute to the late Rich Mulluins by singing his Hallelujiah song, and the n proc cededed to speak a little about Rich Muillins, how he knwew him and wah a gret artist/singer he was. Two of the songs he sang were fun to listen to as they had a country music feel. One of his bandmates played the fiddle (I think) adn was a blast to watch because he would dance while playing. It looked like he had a lot of fun doing it.

I realize now that music is a BIG way that God captures my heart and makes me love Him. The other one being nature.

I wish I wuold have taken notes on the stuff Todd shared. It was awesome

"Hallelujiah , Glory Be to Our Great God" - and ROF's song "Undo" will be stuck in my head for days!

I will be asking for their music for Birthday and Christmas.

Let Your Faith Rest on God's Power

It was another great night in Chi Alpha on Tuesday (then again, what night isn't?). When in worship, God got my full attention when the worship band sung
"Never Underestimate My Jesus".

Am I at the point of no improvement?
What of the death I still dwell in?
I try to excel, but I feel no movement.
Can I be free of this unreleasable sin?

Never underestimate my Jesus.
You're telling me that there's no hope.
I'm telling you, you're wrong.
Never underestimate my Jesus.
When the world around you crumbles,
He will be strong, he will be strong.

I throw up my hands.
"Oh, the impossibilities."
Furstrated and tired,
where do I go from here?
Now I'm searching for
the confidence I've lost so willingly.
Overcoming these obstacles
is overcoming my fears.

I think I can't, I think I can't.
But I think you can.
I think I can't, I think I can't.
But I think you can.
Gather my insufficiencies
and place them in your hands.

It hit me right where I needed it, coming aaway from a few health scares and then having to put my house up for sale. Mom and dad have had theirs for sale for over two years, the market is so soft now that its hardly been noticed. Up here its pretty much the same yet people are looking alot, either by drive by or walk through. Mostly by drive-by, picking up flyers too. Why is there interest in this one, but not the one that really needs to sell. Mom and I talked on the phone a few days ago and she mentioned she was praying for mine to sell. I told her I was praying for theirs. The flyers on the front lawn ran out and I was hesitant to call the real estate agency to come and restock, but I did it.
Why only seven years? True, people outside and within could scarecly agree on how things should be done.

Okay, before this post starts getting depressing, back to Tuesday's meeting.

Our focus in Chi Alpha for the next couple of weeks has been "unreached people groups" here at the University. And so, we will be having guest speakers with various topics of interest. We were given green sticky notes and asked to write down ideas to reach the different groups on campus. I came up with people with disabilities. As far as outreach ideas I have hyet to think oth far, but am praying into it. For over a year now I have been praying for others w/ disabilities to join our group, adn I have seen a few do just that. Why now that I am graduated does this idea hit me, and is this something I am supposed to do or lead someone else into doing?

New of the Weird

Local News
Squirrels' stashes sparked small fires
By TRISTAN SCOTT of the Missoulian

Fire investigators are pinning several recent spot fires near Seeley Lake on an unlikely group of arsonists - squirrels.

A man reported the wildfires last Wednesday afternoon outside his home on Montana Highway 83, moments after turning the ignition key on his RV.

Unbeknownst to the driver, a local colony of gray squirrels had been stowing pine cones in the vehicle's exhaust pipe, and the loaded tailpipe began blasting fiery cones across his driveway like a Roman candle, igniting a handful of

small grass fires.

According to the tongue-in-cheek fire report, Incident Commander Scott Meyer responded to the wildland fire with several engines in tow, and later ruled that the squirrels belonged to a paramilitary squirrel organization that has abounded for years in Seeley Lake, called the Pine Cone Liberation Organization (PCLO).

“A lapse in squirrel-oversight intelligence had allowed the PCLO to engage in recon, planning and sabotage without fear of consequence or retribution, in the form of being chased by a broom,” according to the report.

Calling the attack one “which will live in infamy,” Meyer blamed the incident on a well-known local dissident, “Slippy the Squirrel.” A critter notorious for his chirping fits and histrionics, Slippy's resistance efforts had previously been nonviolent in nature, Meyer said.

“After years of being shot at with blow-guns, run over by logging trucks and chased by neighborhood dogs, the squirrels struck back,” the report states. “This had been their Bastille, their Red October, their chance at glory! Suppression efforts were started by all fire engines - the owner of the property upon which the squirrels had made their presence felt let the firefighters use the garden hose to cool off the pine cones. At 15:16, all resources were released from the fire. At that time, Meyer called the fire controlled, contained and dead-out. Slippy the Squirrel, however, remains at large. The PCLO could not be reached for comment.”

We Need a Miracle!

My house was listed as being for sale a few days ago. They'll be putting up a sign in a few more days. Financially, things are not going well for the owsners, my parents.

Dad built a spec house a few years ago in hopes of selling two years later. They recently canned the realestate agaent who listed it because the house was not getting enough interest. Houses aren't going very fast in the market right now anyay, but still, this was ridiculous.

Someday I hope to look back on this situation and see God's hand.

Now I think I'll go listen to some worship music to help put me in a better mood.
